no heat!!! not the valve 91 s2
Ok I have a bastard 91 s2...I have tried everything to heat. it is not the valve(works) the core has good flow(i flushed it and flowed it) changed the Rad, the t stat.... the flap inside had the usual bad clip(fixed that) no heat unless i rev it to 4k or higher. I have pressured the system with a rad tester,,,bled and bled and bled...still no heat. car runs great, no leaks(it holds 10psi on the tester overnite) very frustratedI even filled the engine from the top ...last resort is to fill it from the rear of the head into the heatercore...anyone ever see a water pump go where trhe impeller spins on the pump shaft? car doesn't overheat(i fdrove it home 850 miles from ohio with no problems...but i didn't use the heat)even had car nose high on stands....

Did you ooen the bleed screw to bleed the system? It's a pain to bleed the system properly on these cars.
Also, double check that your rad fans aren't stuck on.

Did you check for vacuum leaks?

Can you observe the water valve opening and closing when you set the climate control temp?
How did you test the water valve? I had one appear to work but it had failed (open.)
If you are sure the valve is operating, maybe try bleeding the system again with the heater valve wired open. There are also some tricks to bleeding the system like blowing into the overflow line.

ok, the valve works...i took the hose off the end of the pipe(on the heater core side and plenty of coolant came out) I back flushed the core from the head to the pipe..plenty of flow. I took out the bleed screw and used a syringe to fill the bleed hole till it was overflowing. Still no f...ing heat unless I run the car 4-6k rpms... My next course of action is a water pump(it is a new one on it already however) WTF?>

loose belt allowing the pump to slip? it would be scary tobe that loose but I guess it's possible. I'm still thinking the stepper motor for the mixing door is bad or the clip on the linkage. Normally they default to hot if the clip breaks, worth a look tho.

low vacuum to the controls somewhere. when you rev it the vac. gets greater and is enough to open the doors...when you let off it closes again. Check your vac. lines.
