whats up ST.
thats exactly what i dont like about the callaway design.
ANd ive already said im not going to put it in the headlight.
but. I geuss you saw tyhe drawing of how i want to do my headers. what if i was able to get them equal length? would there be a benefit to that? 4 into 1? i might be able to draw up some designs. maybe you can review them for me?

On a tube frame GT series car, you might be able to equal the HP output of a car with the turbocharger in the stock location - AFTER $200,000 of R&D Because you can put headers and turbo where the inner fender was and into the passenger compartment.
Why would you do this when you can now in 2006 buy stuff off the shelf and have a 500 HP 951 in a couple days? Or a 500 HP converted NA in a couple days?? EASILY!!!
If you want to blaze a trail, make a DESTROKED stock bore 951 to fit into GT4 specification using a custom crank. 2.1 liter. You will probably make MORE power through the use of more aggressive timing and boost.
Turbo Tim will give you the name of the man who will make this crank for you.

The car manning posted was built by one of our beloved vendors on this site. The guy who owns it wasnt real happy with it from the beginning. I have better/more pictures of the setup. It is def. not a street setup.
However, there are guys with 1K HP 951s and I can account for 1 or 2 making much more than 500 on a 2.5L. The stock crossover is a joke. You can make bucket loads of HP in stock "trim" (as ST has shown) but it is certainly not the ideal setup.
The beauty of cars is that we can all do it a different way. If Campeck wishes to reinvent the wheel then good for him. The Callaway setup works just fine for this application (and you could use a better turbo) and the stock setup will work too. We wont even get into the fact that by the time all is said and done he will have more money into the NA/Turbo conversion than he would have had he just bought a Turbo (nevermind the time). I think it is cool that he is trying to do it.

Matt - there is no 1000 HP 2.5 951. Doesn't exist. Total speculation. Never been dynoed.
In fact, at this point, I am going to say that there is no 2.5 over 533 RW.
Milledge himself says his highest output 2.5 is 525 crank - out of his own mouth.
I have given Gomes quite a bit of time now, too.
THERE ARE A LOT OF BUL****TER 951 OWNERS.
Case in point....Tony G....soooooooooomuch hot air, doing crazy **** dual intercoolers this, solid lifter that - never made any power 401 - joke.
Then lies about the boost level at the dyno to boot - WHEN THERE WERE WITNESSES THERE!!!!!!
The Howard car was NOT built by Lindsey.
Okay, sorry about the OT - I get fired up about the relocation of the turbo.

No offense but Milledge really doesn't push engines to the limit. Pretty much everything I have seen from him is made for reliability. I bet his 525crank HP car is very reliable knowing how he builds engines. The same engine might beable to be pushed into the 700whp range before problems start up.

Hey, I don't know anything about that car other than what was in Excellence, and frankly I don't give a ****. I do know that the stock location is retarded and I was simply trying to suggest alternate locations. IF Campeck was going to build an alternate manifold anyway then why not consider any location that eliminates both the need to use the crossover AND place the turbo under the plenum.

you knwo what might be an option for turbo guys with massive turbos.
extend the crossover and put the turbo at the alternator position with an AC delete kit.
that would be easier to work on...i think...
anyway. ill draw up some manifold designs.

To be honest, the "next frontier" is something we were doing with Supra's 7-8 years ago and that is massive amounts of boost. I still find it funny that people here shudder at 25psi. I can remember working on Supra's pushing 35+ and some drag cars pushing 42-48psi.

I was going to put one in the Callaway location and one in the 951 location. For packaging and performance I put both in the battery box. Here's some pics of both setups...

Campeck, don't get caught up in the BS. With a decent sized turbo there will be more hp available through tuning than through using a equal length manifold. Stick with simple. Don't forget the fact that Calloway made more hp than a stock 951 using that simple manifold and prehistoric tuning. Forget all the ranting.
