Seen it listed before...that guy's a little out of his mind if he expects 18k, IMHO.

That car is like a time machine...just looking at it makes me feel as if I'm in the 80s.

You know normally I HATE brown on the interior of a car....but the maroon paint and the brown/tan interior looks really good.

At 10K its a steal, but I wonder what the reserve is.

My only real issue with buying a car like this is,

a) if you buy it for just show, you really cant drive it because 1/2 the value is in the collector-type range of the low mileage.

b) if you plan to drive it, you are spending big bucks for a car that really isnt very fast to begin with, espec. compared to all the cheap, fast alternatives. why not just spend $4500 in an 86 944 and get the same **** factor.

So what would you really do with a car like this? I think unless you were looking to add it to a collection of vintage garage queens Im not sure it has a much inherent value as it seems.

I think the three or four 944 collectors in the world already have their full collection.

If one gets it for 10k and makes it a daily driver, uses it for three years and sells it for 7k with 40k on it. cost 3k depreciation, and 3k maintenance. thats 6k for 36 months or 166 a month. about what i am paying for the GTO.

It is proof that the coolant tank changes color from age and not from heat/use! YES.

Anyone else think about the problems that come from such a low mileage car? It's great if you only intend to show the car and win concours or something like that, but if one were to start driving it on a regular basis, you'll start having issues since everything is original and not been used in 20 years.

I dont remember the figure offhand but a buddy of mine sold his 1,900 mile 84 944 for $16-18K about 4-5yrs ago. I think it had a podium finish at PCA Parade.
