Default Anyone looking for a nice 944 S?

My mechanic is selling a really nice looking black 944 S w/ 71k. Cool thing is he rebuilt the top half of the engine (all new valves), and put in a new clutch. Car is located in Chatham, NJ, if anyone cares. He's asking $7500, I think. But he's flexible on the price.

Car is black, w/black interior, very nice ground FX side mouldings, paint is in great shape, as are the phone dials. I was impressed when I saw it.

Just thought I'd pass the info on.

I too have a thing for the S. I can say i love mine to death. I just love the way the powerband is. It's not hyperspeed responsive like my turbo when the turbo spins, but the power it does have is fun. It's just behind my wife's '01 mustang gt convertible, but then we take a turn and i pull ahead. LOL, seriously though, i love my S to death and would own another one. After this one can't run anymore that is. But, that shouldn't be for a long time. That $7500 seems like a good price though.

I'll see if I can get over there for a test drive. With only 71k, and a new top end and clutch, it should drive great. The S2 is faster, with better brakes, as you know. But a black on black S really looks cool, with the silver 944 S logo and all!

His 89 NA either is about to, or just turned 60k and he just did a major tuneup yesterday. he did rotors and other stuff over the summer but is jonesing for a S2 (namely a gray one) because he wants the extra grunt of the bigger motor. Maybe a S will keep him away from my car.

What about that Grey Turbo posted in a thread yesterday? $6700, in Michigan...?
