Oh! I was up really late one night, watching one of those real-estate "get-rich-quick" infomercials. At one point they have a scrolling background of tiled photos, of people standing in front of their new homes, boats etc...
And one guy is standing in the driveway, next to his Guards Red 944!

So random!

In the song I'm currently listening to

Citizen Cope - Salvation

Here are the lyrics

Say Judas came up to D.C.
He'd been down in Georgia for a while
He drove a 944
He bought with the soul
Of a blonde-headed kid
With a left-handed guitar
Now he's lookin' for me
Citizen C-O-P-E
Sign the dotted line please
For the fake 50's
Now Judas answer me
"Since I was the age to speak
Haven't you been listening?"
Salvation

its a good song too if you like acoustic stuff

the commercials for the "free car ionizer" are on a late 944/968 dash. I would recognize that clock/temp gauge anywhere.

An episode of Cops, where a cop from some dept in south Florida is telling a guy his wife was just killed in a car accident right as a 944 drives by.

Not a 944, but on the box of one of my airbrushes (cheapo Testors), there is a nose of a 928 model....

This summer in Drivers Ed, I noticed a Guards Red 944, in more then one photo. It was in 2 different photos. One of the Front, and one of the back. Very cool I thought. The book was from around 84-87, to my knowledge.

Yes, I'm a youngin if you were wondering. Who says a 16 year old can't be in love with a 951?!?!

Target............in the toy dept there's a package of like 15 diecast cars and one is a 944. Not every box has them, and sometimes they're in other packages.

Tip, if you're the type of Porsche geek that actually collects little diecast versions of your car, then check out thrift stores. Whenever I get a ticket and do community service, I work at the local thrift store. Usually after a day of sorting, I find a couple old 80's 944s, 928s, and some really neat 911s. And unlike todays diecast cars, these often are of special turbo models, racers, etc.

But I should stop hijacking!

can't forget the movie"Not another Teen Movie" where he runs into the airport and the lady talks over the intercom "All red 1986's Porsche 944's, parked in the white zone will be towed" or something like that

Oh yeah!! I saw that one day (I worked at target). I was passing through the aisle and caught the shape of it out of the corner of my eye, and backed-up for a closer look.

That was good. It is incorrect though because they are parodying(sp?) 16 candles. That movie was made in 1984. You all remeber Jake is his guards red 84, don't you? I know all those 80's teen movies, it's a guilty pleasure of mine.
