Default My Car, the Movie Star!!

My mechanic knows someone who knows someone that needed a late-model 944 for a movie they were producing. I called the producer, and she asked me to email photos to her, so she could pass them on to the director. Turns out, they liked my car, and are using it in their movie!

I drove to Drew University this afternoon for some location shooting. This is an independant film called On the Road With Judas, starring Arron Ruell (from Napoleon Dynamite), and Eddie Kaye Thomas, from the American Pie movies. I get there, and they let me hang around, and even let me be an extra! My 944 is the star's main car in the movie, which revolves around a rich NY kid that steals computers for a living in 1992. So, they filmed my car driving, pulling into the parking lot, and, with Aaron Ruel driving it with the camera man sitting in the passenger seat! My car will be all over this movie. Hope it comes out big!

I had a ball, and participated in the movie! Just wanted to share!

I suggested that, but the director just took the front plate off, and said they would get a NY plate the next time they need the car, in Jan or Feb. Don't know how they plan to shoot in NYC, with all the modern SUV's driving around, when it's supposed to be 1992!?

Guess they are not into exact period detail? I am a stickler for that kinda detail. I DID have my Rennlist sticker right on the window!

Actually, they didn't really care, but the 968 came out in '92, so yeah, they technically could have been a mod done in '92.

They said "early 90's"...maybe it's 93? Either way, tires, short shifter, WOOX sub...even the Blau Toronto are out of sync. I don't care though. And I doubt movie-goers would even know the 944 S2 existed at all! Except for us listers and entheusiasts, it's not an issue.

Something tells me the New Jersey '05 license plates have to go though!?

Me too! I hope it gets a distributor, etc. It's a small film. The plot seems very cool though. The writer/director is sending me a copy of the book--cool guy!
