Update: I heard from the claims adjuster today. They recognized the excepional condition of the car (prior to the wreck) in comparison to other 944s for sale in the area and offered a replacement value of $5600. I was not expecting this much at all. When I purchased the car 9 years ago, I only paid $4200. Not bad at all. While the money won't bring the car back, it does help put me in a better mood.

They offered to sell the car back to me for around $800, but based upon its current condition and the value of the parts that were spared, I decided to pass. It's better this way. I didn't get over to the wrecking yard to see it, and it looks like they are now going to tow it to a salvage lot for parting since I passed on purchasing it. I really don't want to see it in person, so it's probably for the best. I still don't have the photos from my dad, but I will post them as soon as I get them.

Actually I haven't updated the profile. I am almost 22, bought the car when I was almost 15...and yes, I had been shopping for a car since I was about 12/13.

Killed by a bee!!! I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but it's probably BS.

Do they have the bee to prove it? Have the cops dusted for pollen?

5600. Not bad Mike, not bad at all. Sucks to lose a nice example but hopefully you will find a sweet replacement.

Mike man that sucks real bad. You might be able to talk to your insurance adjuster and get little more money out of them. Unless you already told them that 5600 was cool. I see them jump up all the time. Anyways sorry to hear about your loss. I got a nice cold beer wating for you.
see ya buddy, Judson

I finally got some pictures this weekend. It's pretty gruesome. The photos are black and white because the only person there with a camera was a photographer that works across the street.

Why are so many 944's being killed by other people recently??????!?!?!?!?!!?

It hurts to see. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you find another girl to care for.

Just be thankful that dad was not in it at the the time. That looks like it was a bit more than 30 mph more like 45 or may be more. These cars are really tough. Designed for the Autobahn and all. Sorry to see those Pix but it could have been a whole let worse

Respectfully

Dean

Truly a bummer!! Good luck finding another car--I hope the old saying "when one door closes another one opens" is true for you.

Sorry about the loss, the black and white gives it a different sort of feel than color pictures though...And that minivan in the front's liscence plate was "FOCUSED", it's a shame the one behind you wasn't more focused.
