Three Wheelin'
Tim:
The toggle switch idea will work for the DME voltage source, or find one that is switched but still hot during starting. The original wiring diagram should show this. Start at the ignition switch. There has to be one for the car to have worked originally.
I need to come see this beast! When can I go for a ride down Sicard Hollo with open exhaust?!

Keith - Come on out, if I'm home, I'm working on the car.
Patrick - it's not loud, I just have bad acoustics in my garage

Off of the rack and into the driveway
Still lot's of cosmetics to take care of and she is off for a new exhaust system Thursday morning. She'll be road worthy by Thursday afternoon. Hopefully I'll be at the track for a one day DE on Sunday
Not much of a vid, but this was in the driveway tonight http://www.dpo.uab.edu/~tnagy/924s.wmv

I just loaded her on the trailer for the trip to the shop tomorrow morning for the exhaust system. However, before I could put her on, she wanted to go for a ride, so off we went down Sicard Hollow Road. I only went about 1/2 mile but I did open her up a little on the way back. A 968 engine in a 2400 lb car is fun I didn't really open here, but when I do it's going to be great. The new clutch (Spec Stage 3) engages really well, without being overly aggresive. The 951 tranny shifted very smoothly so I'm hoping it holds up well.
Man, no exhaust other than headers makes for a loud car at 3/4 throttle

Is there a reason you chose the 951 tranny over an S2 or 968 tranny? I am assuming price? You do know the S2 trans would make the acceleration much faster....

I had all of 15 minutes to hit the road tonight. My first impression is that the top end is awesome but it's lacking in TQ lowdown. Not sure what the problem is, possibly the 2.5 pipe and turbo muffler?????
Because of the traffic I found myself going along at low RPM's, when I then goosed it, I often got a hesitation. Not sure of the RPM's as my tach just showed up today and isn't going in until tomorrow morning.
I have a date with a dyno tomorrow afternoon so I will have more details soon

Good deal! Do you have your windshield out still? (or was it ever out- the better question...) Curious, because I had posted if it were possible to convert a recessed one to a flush mounted type. No big deal- still wondering if it can be done. I think if it could, why bother with the old unless your going for originality, right?
Track beast, no doubt. IIRC, your not going to try and make it road legal(I read the first lot of pages, but I'm working with dial-up hell here, so forgive me if I'm wrong) The intake under the headlight is cool, are you getting one of these covers with the NACA ducts? Not exactly subtle, as the sleeper advantage is lost for the guy who sees you in his mirror
Does all this make sense? I think not. I think, therefore I am

you should have loads of torque at 1200-1600. should be a lot of low end grunt. The 968 motor just keeps getting stronger above that
