Chris - I doubt that I'll go widebody. I put a pair if 17x9 running 255's on yesterday and they should work with a little fending roll Ok, a lot of fender roll

FWIW, the 16x6/7 Boxster wheels I had with 235/255's did rub on the rear, even after some rolling.
Them hips is skinny back there!!
I'd love to see this when it's done..

Tim, I just noticed the thread -- I've been out of the loop for most of the summer -- looks like you got a great project in the works!
For what it's worth, when I dropped a 968 engine into my '87na, we kept the original brake booster (girling, 944.355.011.10). "We" being my mechanic and I -- I ended up having to employ some professional help. The motor fit with about half an inch space all around the brake booster/master cylinder.
Is there a difference between the engine compartment of a 944na and a 924S? Or it is possible that the motor is sitting too high? That indentation in the manifold should indicate where the master goes.

I think I know why you are having problems. In the early cars and 924S the firewall and booster/MC mountings are a little different than on the later cars. IIRC they redesigned teh firewall and moved the MC and booster over and up a little bit. I noticed this when I took a chunk of an S2 firewall to patch an early 944 firewall. If I'm right the turbo booster and MC you just bought won't do you any good at all and you'll either have to shift the booster/MC or look into something like a hydro boost MC.

Have you measured out your 968 intake? I still have an S2 manifold kicking around and I don't remember it having that indention in it so it might be a little smaller so you can get clearance.

Will the hood close with the reservoir installed?
