Good luck, Blue...
I wasn't afraid of spiders until last summer when I got bitten by a black widow while pulling my Z out of storage in South Dakota. This was not a good day....I went into shock and finally left the hospital about 12 hours later. Apparently it's 50/50 if you get bit. Thankfully I had people with me and was close to a hospital...
After all that, I'm man enough to admit that any little black, 8-legged creature terrifies me. If you want to see a 6'2", 230 lb former NCAA DII defensive tackle turn into a shivering 5-year-old girl, put me in a closed space with a spider...
So that's my story for today. Again, best of luck Blue!

i was just thinking of this subject as my garage has been overrun by the buggers. Every day when i walk through the shop i get a nice faceful of webs, its just not tasty. THere has to be some sort of industrial spray i can use to make them go away forever.

Try one of those electronic pest chasers. You know, those things that emit ultrasonic waves. I think some of those have a setting for spiders. Blue, you could plug it in and point it at your car all day and see if it worked.
xsboost - Try putting one in your shop.
I've never really used em, but my dad has them at his farm house and says they work great.

You could set off a bug-fogger in the car, open the door and toss in a lit match. That'll solve the spider problem. It might be kinda hard on the interior, though...

I assume you are nowhere near Grand Rapids, MI? If you were I have something just for that. It's an Ozone machine I use to disinfect vehicles. I use it mainly for mold, bio-contaminants, and bacteria. What I do is seal the car up in a plastic bubble or tarp. Then run the machine for 24hours. It takes all the O2 from the air inside and converts it to O3. It kills pretty much everything inside, including bugs. Just used it a few weeks ago when a lady brought her car in because her trunk was full of bags, papers, a laptop, old fast food, and... ugh, maggots!!!
Hopefully the spiders didn't lay eggs up behind your dash or in the heater. You could try a fogger, that should do the job. If not find a local detail shop that has a high concentration ozone machine.

Hmm...electronic bug chaser...i am gonna look into that! That would at least make it easier for me to clear the webs and caccooned animals that have been caught without worries about getting bit. (assuming they actually left the vehicle!)
Damn, once i got bit on my knee. It swelled up bigger than my fist and was like pulsating. It was the most bizarre thing ever.

I hate when you spend the whole day getting them off then think everything's fine until you're driving down the road and you feel that little tickle going up your pant leg into your crotch. . .
Hope you like that little suggestive implantation. . . Sorry had to.

Eggs behind my dash!!!!!!! FFFFFFF**************************KKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!
I hope not! I've never really had a problem with critters getting on the inside though. Maybe once or twice has anything been in. Then again, i do a lot of my concours prep outside with the hatch open, so who knows. Hopefully they didnt find any openings!

HAHA once i was driving and i went to shift and i saw a big green spider crawl from the cubby under the stereo!
Yet another reason to justify driving gloves even when not at an event! (people love to make fun of them, doesnt phase me one bit!)

There are pleny of holes that bugs can get into a car. Often drain holes or many bugs and critters find openings throught the heater/vent system.
A Range Rover(not mine) that was in storage had a mouse make a nest on the heater core, then died there. You can imagine how it smelled when he cranked up the heat on his way home. I'll leave out the grusome details but it took about 3 weeks to get the smell out.

"Its truly amazing how persistent these little biggers are" yeah, they don't worry about mortages, career shifts, gasoline prices, pedicures, or tire rotations.
Sounds like you have been butting up with these guys for a while.

Actually, spiders were never really an issue til just recently. Last year was monster crickets. There were always 5 of them hudled together by my passenger door. No matter how many times i got rid of them, 5 overly large crickets would always be there! I dont get it!

The good thing is that the spiders will eat the other bugs.. Now you need a bat or 2 to eat the spiders..but then there's guano. nevermind.
I was thinking of a natural way of pest removal..
