Default Can't Fix Injector Leak, Help Needed

About a month ago I had my injectors rebuilt by Witchhunter, yesterday I was doing so odds and ends and noticed wetness around the base of the injector at #2. I pulled the rail, looked at the o-rings, cleaned them and the holes, and re-installed, using oil on the o-rings so they slide in easy. Same problem. Installed new o-rings and cap, same problem. WTF? Is there some trick to properly installing injectors? I put them into the rail first so I could snap on the retainers, then put them into the manifold, making sure to get each lined up and pushed in. Tightened everything down, still leaks. What am I doing wrong?

Doing NOTHING wrong- I suspect the o-rings have shrunk. Compare the orings with an injector that is sealing properly- there may also be a small crack not visible that under pressure that is causing this.

Get some new o-rings. The rail and injectors should seal without the bolts installed. Once bolted down there shouldnt be ANY fuel leaks.

EDIT: Re-Read original post. Seems odd that the new o-rings arent sealing. Make sure the injectors are all at the same angle from the head.

Did this just start, or is it since the new injectors have been installed?

Same here. I went through two set of seals and then started swapping injector locations before I discovered the injector itself was the cause of the leak. Put out a request for a used injector (here). Aribop came through for me. Thanks bud.

Man, that's eerie... I was going to post a very similar issue, but you've beat me to it. I've replaced all the seals and caps on my injectors, swapped them around, and still have a small leak on #4.

So, since we're at it... are the 944S injectors different than standard 8v injectors? I would presume so, but am not certain at the moment.

Anyone got a decent used one they could part with?

OT BUT PERTINENT TO THE THREAD...
Scott. I wore my "Team Harco" shirt to work yesterday. That shirt makes me a chick magnet- I had several women asking me about what it's like driving off-road , like , rallye style.
When I grow up I wanna be you. and I want those wildwood calipers too..

Not sure when it started, but I first noticed it yesterday. Scary thought, it may have been doing it the whole time. I'll try looking at the body, would it be cracked near the tip? If I can't find anything I'll try swapping them, see if the leak follows.

That's the only way I was able to determine it was the injector. The crack was almost impossible to see without magnification. Mine was cracked at the outlet end.

Mine was craked in the middle of the body.

I can't say for sure, but it seems very likely the 944S injectors are not the same as 8v injectors.

I know the 951 injectors are different from other 944 ones, I thought the 944/944S were the same, and they changed for the S2? Could be totally wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.

Don't know if these will work for you, but I think I have three injectors for an '87 NA laying around in my garage.

Just came in from the garage. Numbers stamped on the Olive Green plastic are: 0280 150 158. At one time I had all four, but I had to use one when I broke a pintel tip during an O-Ring change.

Pm me if interested.
