I'm looking to re-finish my wheels (with an anthracite center and a polished lip...Phonies) and as for the curb rash that the PO (I swear it was the PO *looks around nervously*) put in them, I want it smooth and filled, and looking new again before I refinish them. is there anything I can do myself, or should I just bite the bullett and take it to a wheel shop and have them fill it?
Use a 'filler primer' and sand it smooth when dry. Porsche used one that filled the casting pores real well. You can probably get by with one pass on the primer if you wheels aren't too rough.
Id like to fill the curb rash on my rims. It only has very minor rash on two rims, but it would be cool to get rid of if it wasnt expensive. My rims are polished though, so I guess that wouldnt work?
