Thumbs up Home Made Supercharger for the 944? HE LISTED A KIT HE LISTED A KIT

Been a lurker for a while, finally got off my behind and registered, next will have to be a membership... so here is my first post:

Supercharging the 944 NA or in my case a 924S. Yea I know their is a SFR kit, and yes I used the search.. rather than dig up old posts and post to one of them I thought I would ask... and before you flame me. (ducks for cover)

I also lurk over at the 924.org group and their is this member over their building a supercharger or claims to have built one.. is this for real:

! ! ! ! ! ! !

Campeck, let his last post on page 3, in bold blue type be an inspiration for your continued projects:

"Funny when I suggest things, every one has some thing to say usually, soon as I build something... everyone gets quiet go figure!"

I wouldn't sell him short. He has built up quite a few cool projects and does his research before he starts. I have seen him back up pretty much every idea he has come up with and back it up with data.

It's legit, I've met him before and talked about it a bit.

Those people have engineering experience. Besides, Audi meatwagon engines are even more expendable.

Folks on 924board.org are WAY more receptive to interesting ideas about swaps and conversion than Rennlist by far. There is even a section dedicated to engine swaps. Only trouble is that site move way slower than Rennlist.

Well I emailed him some questions, we will see what he has to say about the spinning it fast enough and all that.

I looked at the dyno charts and they are impressive. I remain unsure...

Can it be this simple?

I mean I read again and again in the posts here that a supercharger or turbo setup for the 944 engine is flamed, dismissed, etc... this guy says its been done and tested on the 2.5, but his focus is to be the 2.0 924 or both the 2.0 and 2.5?

It can all bloody well be done. All it takes is someone willing. And certainly someone not interested in others who like to tell people something can't be done.

Those who say something can't be done should stay out of the way of those doing it.

He had turbo charged his own NA and ran it daily the last I heard. Low PSI but boost... He is developing them for both the 2.0 and the 2.5. I think what he is working on right now is the 2.5
