Whenever I mention 3000gt, they say "consider the 300zx or dodge stealth..."
Stealth is the same car, made at the same facility with the same parts, just like a GMC and a Chevrolet.

I would hit up 3si and ask if anyone local can look at it with you. The Active Aero can be more than 3K to repair (the spoilers are active they adjust) and there are a few items that you dont want to see break but all in all, I enjoy my Stealth. It rides like a truck but I enjoy the car.

I think you've already convinced yourself. But what you say makes sense. Everything about it makes sense. Financialy, practically, and so on. The only real question to stop you from doing it, is do you mind ditching the 951. If you can answer that with a no, i dont mind, its as good as gone. I think buying the VR4 is a good move.

I've had a Talon TSI AWD. It was good in the winter and decently fast in the summer, but I got rid of it asap. It just felt cheap. Plus, as Matt pointed out, the DSM club guys were not my cup of tea. I now have an A4 and it's not all that much money to maintain. I think Winslow (horsepowerfarm) makes some fun upgrades for the A4/S4, so you always have that option.

Do you really want to drive any cherry car in the salt and sludge?

UD does need the AWD in the winter just to get out of his driveway. There are dead mountain goat carcasses down there because it was too steep for them to climb up.
The 951 would never make it up that driveway in the winter.

Besides, the 3000gt is an overweight pig.
Just becuase Mitsu lost $9 BILLION in 5 years, that doesn't mean that... well... nevermind...

Time to move or get a truck if you need a plow for your driveway

I've always liked the 3000GT's but everyone else has said my opinion. Heavy, kinda chinsy and one of the worst crowds to hang with. (if you want to go that far) 3 of my buddies have AWD talon/eclipse's and the price-performace ratio is unreal but they are just chintsy.

Remember UD i was in your shoes a few months back. I ended up going with a 2000 Chevy Blazer 4x4. Not the best on mpg but gets me everywhere in the winter. Plus it was hard to beat 45k miles for $7000.

That aint no lie!!!

Sometimes you buy a car thats just a great buy. And you live with the weak spots. Im wondering if this car is one of those where you cross paths with it and need to find a way to adjust your lifestyle to it even if it means giving up something else.

I think I would drive this car April-November. I **could** drive it all year, but I think I could pick up a cheap winter car (old CRV or Legacy) and basically for the cost of the 951 it would fund two cars. The way I take care of my cars it would probably stay looking pretty good because I have no life. The only reason I dont even wash the WRX is the leasing company owns it. So they can wash it.

Buy it, what's the worse that happens? You don't like it and sell it again.

As long as your looking for AWD why not consider an Audi S4/A4 or BMW 325ix? Those cars are a lot of fun to drive, provide good quality, reliability and practicality. If you want a Japanese sports car, stick with either a Supra or 300ZX. Just my .02
