Gang, incase you haven't read the following thread:

Stolen 944 in Sacramento, CA

Our pal Serge944 '86 NA was stolen last night. He went out side this morning to find that his car had vanished w/o a trace. I don't want to make this a "sob story", because he's taking it like a champ. Sergey, is a freshman at the University of CA - Davis campus. His 944 was his only source of transportation, so he needs a way to make his 40+ mile commute to school.

I've seen miracles happen on RL in the past and have already talked to John D. about setting up a fund to help him get back on the road.

I'll throw in the first $100 to get the ball rollin'.

EDIT, Sergey's paypal address is serge944@gmail.com

I also talk to Serge online quite a bit and am very aware that he needs a car for transportation, as he drives something like 100 miles a day to school and work. I have been fairly tight on cash ever since I moved, however I will be willing to make a contribution as well. Keep me posted.

Thanks for starting this thread Stephen. I felt awkward about asking for someone else. Put me down for the same $100. What a bitch. We had just done our belts on both cars that afternoon. It would be great if someone even had a beater to loan for awhile. That car was pretty much all he had, all his tools were in there too. He brought that car up from a $500 roller to a good running car. Without going into his personal life, financially he is no position to recover from this quickly. He's a smart kid with a future and has been a good friend to many in this area and has always been there to help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Steve

We have Serge's new Porsche right here: http://www.craigslist.org/sfc/car/69720711.html

I'll be more than glad to pick it for you and have it towed or driven to your house.

If it needs any work before it's road worthy - i'm sure the guys down here will be more than glad to chip in their time to get it there.

Serge, that sucks. hate to hear it. if I had any spare cash, it'd be goin towards the fund. you are a fountain of information on the list, and yes, this is one big happy family. I'd help if I could...

Good luck, and once again, sorry to hear that happened.

Tell you what, lets step it up a notch. Since Rennlist has been so good to me, I want to give something back.

I'll donate 100% of the sales for the next few days towards getting Serge a car, up to $100 edit (wife shot me down).
Here is how it will work, email for parts and a price. Pay shipping to me and the price of the parts to Serge's Paypal account. Once Serge confirms payment to me I'll ship.

Pay it forward!
Jason
