I am in agreement. Road coarse with other people on track - yes. Autox - not so much. unless you really are that bad that you are whacking cones every 5 seconds...

No, not a horrible driver, but it offers peace of mind. One cone to hit and getting scratched up is more than enough. With no dings and very minimal stone chips, i try to avoid things that will alter the state of my finish negatively if i can. Sounds pressed, but whatever. Its exactly that though, peace of mind. (and it does protect)

Tony-

If the paint on my car was as nice as yours looks in the pix you post, I'd be taping my car up too. Luckily (unluckily?) I do not have qualms with the occasional cone scuff.....

Cheers,

Or maybe you just haven't NOTICED the cone marks! My first time autocross i sideswiped a cone lightly on a slalom run. I squeezed too close to the the second to last cone and just grazed it with the passenger door somehow. (didnt even move it from the box) It totally left a mark and a scratch! The marks rub out, and the scratch i biffed out, but still.

So, i guess ive become a little overprotective.

ANYWAYS, Driving on the highway, a car will encounter more things anyways that fly up and hit the paint. And he is driving on the highway, so the tape will be great.

Also, another wonderful use for this tape on highway trips is BUGS!!!!!! In the Spring and Summer when bugs infest the highway air waiting for cars to splatter them, this tape takes the hit! Normally a car's mirrors and bumpers will be covered in bug splatters! With this tape,it bugs dont' harm the finish at all, and the bugs become SOOOOOO EASY to remove. Just pull the tape off, and off go the bugs!

So true...on the trip up to my last DE in Feb some moron in an SUV decided to cut in front of me right across a pile of trash in the middle of the road and threw a piece of sheet metal up and across my hood which left a nice huge gouge in it. Scratched the windshield too...so much for having original paint, gonna have to do the hood sometime I guess.

I bought my S2 so I could look cool and impress the chicks because I am a wild and crazy guy.

If I drive my porsche package packaged like tony's I dont think the chicks will dig me.

I believe in going au natural, I aint wrapping my toy up in anything. i guess im gonna just face the consequences and pick bugs out of my crosshairs of my radiatior next time i take the old gal for a fling. That is unless I insist the old gal have her bra on during the fling. but she doesnt look hot with a bra on. do you think yours looks good in a bra, or is she better looking when going au natural?

dilemma dilemma, what to do, what to do. Im so confused

Many people buy these cars to "impress chicks." In reality though, the only people they attract are other men.

So, i wouldn't worry about the chicks diggin' it or not.

I'm a cone ***** I admit it. I'm sure I'll take a couple on the 30th of this month and make an *** out of myself. But I promise not to kill any corner workers!
