Default The Cayman S is coming...more than a boxster $

I think it will be quite quick. I wonder if they will put a SMG type gearbox on it?

Or just the standard Boxster 6speed/Tiptronic.
Video.. sorry no pics.

For the money, they'd better become quicker. The Infinity equivalent seriously outperforms it. Something's gotta give...either lower the sticker so it will be in another classification, or boost the crap out of the performance. Either way, the Cayenne needs some improvement.

Spend 150K on a Cayenne, and you can do some serious whoopin' though...(I love the "build your own car" stuff on auto websites!)

Is it just profit pricing it above the Boxster S ???? They would have sold quantity beyond their wildest expectations if it was priced below the Boxster line. And they would still make money!!!!

This car better be mind blowing when its released to be priced between the 987S and the 911. What a narrow gap to squeeze it into???

This has nothing to do with the Cayenne. The CAYMAN is Porsche's new cutesy-name for the Boxster Coupe. I wonder if Signal Green or whatever that color was will be its debut!

Unless the car looks like an Alligator, what's the point of the commercial?? Show the car, man!!

The "Cayman"? How dumb is that name? Half the people will confuse it with the SUV right from the start!

How bout: the Coupster!?

HAHA i just watched their "video enhanced" version. The car SOUNDS good. And i bet with an unrestrictive exhaust it will be amazing. And the way they are boasting their sexy, passion, driver oriented, road perfection machine in that Flash movie, it better be real good!

Knowing Porsche though, it will probably make us all drool and add another reason to be obsessed on the marque.

I agree Tony!! Bring back the numbers. "CaymanS" are a chain of islands ! Yikes.

And from some of the spy photos posted on the 997 forum link, I like the retro 911 looks of the 987s! If it will look like that. But at, what, $50-$60k?? Used Boxster S is in my future!

Andy, you'll never get a car with no back seats, figure on a 996 cab if you want to go topless.

If this was priced below their current offering, even with a smaller engine, but lighter weight, i bet dozens of us would be seriously looking into it.

HAHA, we should purposely not make a Cayman board! HAHAHA, stick em' with the Boxster section!

I don't even wanna go topless Damian! But since nice Boxster S's are coming down in price...maybe in a few years...

Think the wife wont go for the 2-seater with 2 kids and all?? Hmmm.

Ditto here. I've got to have an open-roof car next. Either an S2 cab, 968 cab or Boxster S cab. Then I'll have to turbo it.

Jeff, an S2 Cab with the 3L-turbo conversion would be soooo wild. THAT would be a real desireable ride!
