Hi all. I'm looking for recommendations for a low profile floor jack to use on my 951. My current one doesn't go under it, it's too tall. Any recommendations? It would be noce to find a lightweight aluminum one of they're not too pricey ..... Thanks again! This forum is the BEST!

I'm very happy with my aluminum jack from Sears; reasonable weight, built very well and goes under my lowered 951S without a problem. They're about $199 normally but go on sale occassionally.
My favorite jacks are my AC Hydraulic jacks - they're awesome but about 2-3 times the price.

Harbor Freight aluminum racing jack. They have one that is $90 or one that is $130 difference is capacity.

If you have a Sam's Club or Price Club (Costco) by you, they should carry an aluminum floor jack for about $100-150 (i cant remember). I was going to buy one of these while i worked at a Sam's club, but they we ran out of stock before i decided to buy it. They never got them back in until a month or so after i had moved from the area (and left the job).

Otherwise Sears as a really nice aluminum jack for $119. Its load limit is 1.5 tons and even has a magnetic parts tray!

I have been meaning to buy the Sears one, but havent had any jobs which required jacking the car up yet.

4 2x6 squares of lumber make my jack fit just fine. Cheaper than buying a new one, too!

I have the harbor freight aluminum jack. Pretty happy with it.

Some 3 years ago, I got one of the Harbor Freight aluminum jacks too and it has worked well. This will save you a few clicks.

I got a Ranger jack. Pretty nice. A couple of the models are 5-10lb lighter than normal non-racing jacks. I had to have a red jack because Im a dweeb so it was one of the few.

I have the Harbourfreight aluminum jack as well but I just purchased and recomend the Big Red Aluminum Jack kit from Pep Boys for $179. The kit comes with a set of aluminum jack stands that have a flat pad that fit flush with the body and/or the support "pucks" under the car. To top it off the jack itself has not one but two hydrolic pump cylinders, less pumps and easier to raise the car.

dude! my g/f got me a low profile jack for my b-day and its awsome. Its a full sized 2 ton jack from NAPA called a furious jack or something, very good quality, but the front of the jack is lowered down to like maybe 2-3" and fits right under a lowered car. Not as light as the aluminum jack but prob. better for lifting the car for any length of time. I beilieve it was around $200 though.

I was going to buy the Harbor Freight jack until a friend of mine broke his - the jack pad plate craked down the middle and broke off. I did some searching around the web - not uncommon. Few sites stated the problem was fixed.

I have the HF jack as well. Its light and nice to drag around to change tires with at the track / autox but I wouldn't trust it for every day use. It creaks and cracks a lot, plus it doesn't lift the car high enough when I want to block up the wheels to do alignment adjustments.
But, it does fit under the car nicely, with about 2" between the jack pad and the car.
