Default Clutch job a success....10 hours later

First of all I'd like to publicly thank Nine-44 (Andy) for turning almost all of the wrenches on this job.

We finished the job in just shy of 10 hours, with a lot of screwing around, eating...BS'ing.....prolly cound be done in 8 hours truly. We also changed out the spark plugs, fuel filter, flywheel, rear main, oil and repacked rear CV's

No broken bolts or any other problems to speak of.

The only thing that we noticed is that at idle the car has this rattle noise. We have narrowed it down probably to the drivers side motor mount. If you lift the drivers side of the motor, the rattle goes away.

Thanks again Andy!!!

-J

wow, you did all of that in 10 hours? very impressive. did you have an air ratchet or impact wrench? that really speeds things up.

all in good fun guys. I'm pretty sure it's the motor mount, prolly just moving the motor aroung on the clutch job unsettled it a bit. We'll look into it and take care of whatever it proves to be. Pretty much all the wrenching was by hand, I think we tried air on the lugs but ended up doing them by hand also. I have my clutch and Rocks clutch on the list along with Jason's and Tammy's struts and shocks, I may do mine too, lol. I also have to rebuild my rack, it's done. This is already a damn buisy year.

Is the clutch job really doable with a jack and jackstands at home?

Haha yeah drop your car off at a shop, take $1000 out of the bank then trade that cash for your car when you go to pick it up. It's painful but apparently that works as well.

I'd say that we had the car about 15 inches off the floor and managed.

You definately need the "SUV" jackstands that are good for an extra 6" if "headroom". That is a record for the swapout..but you didn't have that pesky turbo plumbing in the way.

By the way..who are you and how did you get in the SOW?
