I need to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on my 944S2 and am not quite sure about how to remove the throttle body.
Some folks say it's only 4 allen screws, but I tried removing it on my 83 once and couldn't get it out because of the convoluted position some of the allen heads were in.
What's it like on the S2? Can anyone give me some pointers? Your suggestions are appreciated.
TIA

Yes, it is only 4 allen screws for the TB on the S2. Here is a pic from the ISV fix thread. I can't take credit for it, but it is all you need to do to get the TB off.

I do not have the write up, but here are all 4 pix in sequence, I think you can manage form them. Again, these are not my pix so whoever put these up originally, my thanks!

I cleaned out my ISV with some PB Blaster and reached into the ISV with a long, thin screwdriver and pivoted the valve to make sure it was moving free. I would think WD40 or some carb cleaner would do the same trick.
One other caveat, getting the hoses back on the ISV while under the IM is not that easy, but it can be done.
Good luck!

Hi, Riff,
Yeah, you are probably right... You *can* do it, but I no longer have the patience to struggle with not taking the manifolc all the way off...
Life's too short to fight these things...

I changed mine without removing the manifold. Takes some gymnastics and a small ratchet with a pivoting head helps and you will likely finish with some skinned knuckles but it is doable. Not very complicated to do just tight.
