Let's see...where to begin.
Bought car - 7k
Blew up motor 2 days later due to PO lame intake that sucked in water - 2.5k
new MAP system - 1.3k
exhaust - 1.2k
oil cooler reseal and vacuum leak troubleshooting - 1k
white gauges, EGT gauge, boost gauge, panel - .2k
new stereo, speakers and amp - .7k
Oh yes....such a glorious year. My car has spent more time on jack stands than on the road this year and i've spent 12.9k. I'm going to go bang my head against the wall now.

I purchaced my car in November. I can't really include the initial investment as that is simply the price of admission but I always dislike paying taxes on a used car from a private owner.
PPI, belts and rollers, distributor cap and rotor, labor (did distributor myself but hired an expert to help with belts and rollers) = $550
Insurance = $350 (for 6 months)
Items purchased but yet to install - oil cooler reseal kit (for purely preventative reasons), new shift lever and bushings = $70
So about $970 for 2 months of ownership. I haven't changed oil yet or even gone through a single tank of gas.
Planned for next year - PS hoses, front reseal kit, alignment, possibly having injectors cleaned and blueprinted, new leather shiftboot, driver's side wheel well liner, and chin spoiler replacement/upgrade.
So it looks like I'm planning on about $1K in parts plus anything else that might break. I'll probably hold off on upgrades until I know that I am getting the most out of what the car was intended produce stock but may go with a set of chips and updated head/driving lights.

well, i avoided this thread for a while, but finally clicked on it. I think I'm about 4500-5000 in this year not including insurance or gas. Thats with both maintainance and mods.

$5500.00 for the new head job alone.
Also got new rotors and had my calipers rebuilt.
And there were other things that I had done on my car.
I really don't want to add it all together!!!!

New engine, clutch, windshield, and other small tidbits- $8K
Vitesse Stage II kit- $3200
Body upgrades- $2000
wheels/tires- $3000
Big Reds- $1300

Dare I mention neither of our cars run right now?
