Probably around $1500. New tires, some new suspension stuff, regular maintanance like oil, etc.

Total life of the car, including purchase price, is probably around 8-9k.

I needed a new waterpump, belts, rollers & tensioners, cam chain tensioner pad for the 16V, plus misc. tools for the job totaled about $750. Miscellaneous items added probably another $200-$300. I've spent roughly about $1000 on repairs & maintenance this year.

Well I guess I'm the cheap ba$tard here.
Purchased 85/1 in 12/03 for $2K w/ 88k miles

Changed all belts
Replaced oil cooler seals
New plugs, wires and rotor
Refinished cookies
New alpine head unit
New tires
New batttery
Headlight, foglight and misc. bulbs
New hood struts
Cleaned nasty hood insul. and replaced w/ flea market foam ($5)
Changed tranny oil (Mob. 1)
Neoprene seat covers (Ebay nice quality, retail $130/paid $25 inc ship.)
Rebuilt noisy wiper motor w/ $5 replacement bearing
Acquired r12 for a/c recharge for the next month w/ no r

Maybe $700 total for parts in 04, labor is all my sweat and satisfaction. Pretty damn incredible for a twenty year old car that fired right up this morning at 12 degrees F. Certainly no concourse contender, but looking damn good considering her age. Put 12k miles on this year and just turned 100k today. Car is reliable as any I've owned and doesn't really owe me a dime.

Thank you all for your answers...
I am sure there is no such thing as a cheap Porsche or any old classic car for that matter

A friend of mine has an Alfetta GTV 2.0 1979 and he used to bragg about only spending in a full paint job since buying the italian coupé but now he has to rebuild his engine and will get even with my expenses.

I must be doing good.

I only had to buy a battery for my S.
I also installed IceSharks battery cables.

A total of $300.00
Not bad.

This year, it was only about $2000 - exhaust, shfit linkage, and all the fun extras. next year I expect more - especially if I get the paint job. This brings the running total up to... over $14000 total not including sale price since 1989.

109er, that is the most awesome avitar!

Master and slave cylinder, front seals, exhaust, radiator, coolant expansion tank, vacuum lines, turbo waterpump, timing belt, balance shaft belt, and rollers - $1010
Having all that installed - $1800
Having to buy and install a starter two week later - $150
Totalling the car the very next day - Priceless

Had to do it...

anyway, add all that up, then put another $4000 with it for my new one, and you get what i paid this year...which is just under $7000 *wowzers*
