951 Cabrio meets 968 Coupe
Last weekend I had the opportunity to meet up with fellow Rennlister Pitou and his U.S. spec 1992 amethyst metallic on black 6 speed 968, right here in Barcelona.
We met up at the car wash place, as I was drying my 951 and then went for a spirited drive up into the hills behind the city, and a nice lunch in the town of Sant Cugat, in the valley beyond. It was an awesome, cool sunny day, and I was pushing the new balljoints in my control arms for all they were worth in the turns.
Here's a pic of the two cars side by side at one of my favorite stops by the roadside. Pretty neat how such different cars were built within months of each other:
Here's a pic of the two newly acquainted Rennlisters, standing opposite from our rides (Pitou is on the left, I'm on the right):
And here's a head-on shot of the cars, just as a beer truck went careening by in the background.

Very nice photos!
I can't believe that the two of you have never meant before. For the longest time, I thought the two of you were the same person because -- I guess in my little mind -- I always got the two of you confused because I think of both you as "the lucky bastard who gets to live in Barcelona". I love your city....

Awesome pics! I swear everytime I see that 951 cabrio of yours, I hate you more and more. . . J/K, it's beautiful - you're a lucky guy!
One of my dreams would be to go to Europe and find a nice 951 cabrio. and import it to the U.S. THAT would truly be unique; I think none were sent here.

Thanks guys. Not sure about the heavy footedness. I think if Pitou had led the way instead, I might have been the one having trouble keeping up. We'll see next time!
