Default Fuel Injector Cleaner / Gas Additive

Just put in some Chevron Techron gas treatment for the drop in temps this week. Any opinions on Techron or other similar products, usage, and time intervals when to use? Appreciate the tips. Thanks!
Chase

I used Motul in my car a few times, recommended by the shop I go to. Noticed a difference, so im happy with it. I fill up either with Chevron 94 octane which has Techron in it, or Mohawk which has Ethanol.

I use Red Line SL1. A bottle costs about $5.00 at Pep Boys and will treat 100 gallons of gas, or about 5 tanks.

Every couple of months or so I just dump a bottle into a fresh tank of gas. Works fine for me.

Chris: thanks for the tip on the Techron. Any experience with the other Chevy Techron/Pro-Gard line? Like the Gas Treatment, Fuel-injector cleaner, etc. I know they all contain Techron, but was curious if you rotate through any of those products periodically, or just use Techron. Thanks--Chase

I added a bottle of Chevron about a week ago and, either the car does have more pull about 4000 rpm than it did before, or I’m just suffering from the placebo effect. Either way, for 7 bucks it definitely can't hurt. It never seemed to make a difference with my other cars, though.

Sam & Chris: how often do you guys use Techron... every 3000 miles? or every month?

Over here, i ran the fuel cleaner on my NA and noticed a smoother ride. But once i refilled the tank, things went back to 'normal', the 'smoothness' went away.

The best way to clean the injectors is to send them to Bosch (or any shop that has injector cleaning service), and have the resealed. Did this on my Turbo and didn't cost much (~$50 for all injectors with seals at the Official Bosch Service Centre here).

I picked up BMW labelled techron at the dealer for $2.50 a bottle. I should have bought a case.

Hacker: was that the regular Techron, or was it part of Chevron's series of special gas treatments, like "Injector Cleaner" "Engine Cleaner" etc? They have several specialty treatments out now... curious to know. Thanks! Chase

The parts guy said it was the same stuff that's labeled "Techron" in the auto parts stores. BMW has the same recommendation as Porsche about the stuff so I have no reason to not believe him.
