I have been running techron in all of my cars for about 10 years now. Once in spring and again every fall for each car. I've read that fuel additives break down oil so I pour it in when I'm about 2 gas fill-ups away from an oil change anyway.
I was on a road trip with my 2000 Beetle when I realize my mileage was due for some techron, stopped at the BMW dealer. I haven't noticed any loss in performance in my Beelte (bought new, now has 93,000) and I've recently driven new 2.0 VW's. If you think your injectors are really bad, pull'em and have them cleaned. Usually around $20 an injector to have them 100% done over.
My mechanic turned me onto Techron, he has run it through older cars and has noticed improvments.
