he was talking about rolling the chasis on its side to weld a new floor in.. (this is somthing aside from removing the engine,...water cooler )

ive got one.. how long do you need to borrow it for? (youre talking about a vw/porsche air cooled engine stand correct?)

air cools the oil and in turn cools the engine..

Hey Dan I think I still have a bench mount VW type 1 engine stand. if it works on a Type 4 you're welcome to it.
I can't make it there this weekend but if anyone passes through Dayton they could pick it up.

i need them to make a car rotisserie, so im thinking bench mount may not work....thanks though.

the motor stand i have is on casters (for type 1 and 356/912 engines dont know if type 4 works but i think it does)... thinking of using it for a rotisorrie!? you sure it would be strong enough!? i mean yeah an engine is heavy.. but a car is heavier... even stripped..

as long as its not for too long, like a few mos (remember i need to at least replace my heads this year).. and as long as its not gonna get damaged, i dont think it would be a problem (its my dads.. but i use it.. need to ask permission, but immagaine it would be ok).
