well, when you build a rotisserie, you attach other pieces to the stand to support the weight better. I could do this ok w/o messing the stand up. much. Im thinking of trying to flip the car over and put it up on stands upside down so i can weld the bottom, that or just set it up on its side to get to the bottom. I have a beam in the ceiling of the garage w/ an engine hoist that could-has- picked up several thousand lbs and could support the car if needed. I also have several tires that could be laid down under the ps/ds wheels to set the car up off the ground.

Damnit man! You are gonna get me divorced! Stop posting pictures of 914's on this board. You are making me go over to "the bad place" again. My teener has been gone for just under a year and you are not making it any easier.

Dan,
If you are gonna' buy the materials for the rest of the rotisserie it might not be that much to just get a couple more pieces to make the "stands" part, too. I know where you can get heavy duty casters. There is a place here by me that sells used metal stock, maybe I could check on the prices for such a thing........

Okay, I am in, looks like I have convinced my frined Micheal to come along, well know by tommorrow, I will be bringing the 944fest video on DVD, Let me see, I can make copies for those of you that will be there, but let me wait, I'll give you more info on wendsday. The only thing is one of you has to convince micheal he needs a 944, who wants to give him a ride in a slow water cooler.... hahaha!

Sounds like a blast. I can make it for most of the morning and early afternoon. Then Mrs. Cutie T has plans for me later that night...something about a birthday bash.

wade- i have some casters here at work that i could use, very heavinous-dutinous, but buying the barstock and CUTTING it would be the problem.

carl- good deal, see what you can do. See ya there.

tj- more the merrier, so what, is it the boxsters birthday or something? Or am i the only one that celebrates my cars birthdays?

OH and just a reminder, this is a casual bring your own beer/snacks etc gtg. I will pick up some drinks etc but since we are working, ordering a pizza is not out of question. Ill also bring my heater over just in case it turns into an ice cave over there. Dress warm and get ready to get dirty! should be fun. Now i just have to convince my mom to let us go into her house to watch the video, if not, caravan to the apartment!

It's supposed to be 30 degrees in the morning, with a high of 44 for the day.

i think we located some engine stands and iron boxsteel to fab up a rotisserie, maybe i should rename this a teener roast. So is everyone feeling strong? We're also doing a compression test on the 2.0, both, and separating the trans from the block.

I think I have all sizes up to and including 30mm. I also have some open-end wrenches in that size range.
