Default door handle plastic seals....

good day

My plastic is slowly and quite surely falling apart...

Right after the sunvisor clip broke, I notice that the door handles on the exterior have broken seals around them. The thin black deals...any ideas on how to fix or replace these...?

And....anybody with a cheap (or moderately priced) wind deflector....?

peace

Remove the door handles and replace with new seals, they run about 1.20 each.

And now I am considering replacing my tattered gear shift boot since I see those listed...ahh...

You will have to call them up and ask for Jason he will get you anything you need for the 944's. They can get almost anything.

hood struts are cake. The hood doesnt have to come off the car. i just used a piece of wood to prop it up in the front and center while I pulled the old and swapped in the new. However, I did bow my hood a bit when I removed it to get my hoist in there for a oil pan gasket replacement. Doesn't bother me much, I bought the car in need of paint (pretty badly), so its not very high on my list of things to lose sleep over.

Pelican for the door seals. You do NOT have to take the door handle off from the inside to get the new seals on. Figured this out after doing the first one that way. Both seals will slide on if you pull the one bolt and get the door handle away from the door, leaving all the inside stuff attached. 2 minute job, per side...

Tomc...that is great...I wasn't looking forward to foolin' with the door that much...will my Haynes Manuel help much with this..I don't very much experience with cars or their doors...

Now the list of small **** to do has grown: Hood struts, Shifter Boot, Door Handle Seals, and Sun Visor Clips...all for around $100.......I pray my clutch has some years left in it...

Danc: You won't need any Haynes Manual for doing the doors -- its VERY simple. Actually all the projects you've listed (except the clutch) are extremely simple; you could probably do all 4 in a couple of hours. Let me know if you end up needing any help; I have the Haynes Manual and the Factory Repair Manual, and i'm here in S.F., so you can borrow either one short-term if you need to.

By the way, if you're in S.F., one of the best places to get parts (used) is PartsHeaven in Hayward. Just a quick 30 min drive over the San Mateo bridge. They also carry a decent selection of new parts too and the guys there are fun to chat with. http://www.partsheaven.com/

And if you see a white 968 cab (w/ blue top) in SF, that's probably me or my gf.

Who needs a Haynes Manual when you have Rennlist and Clarks Garage....
Haynes is actually good for torque values, and sometimes pictures, but that is about it...
Steps A-D in "removing the existing handle" on the aforementioned Upgrade procedure and you are home free..... Good Luck!
