Unhappy the 912 sold today

well, when we bought mein 912, my dad and i both went in on it together, and it went in my dads name (as he paid most of it).

he's been threatening to sell it because he needed more room in the garage, and the money.

well.. i told him he cant sell it, and we got into an argument and i told him i would buy it from him. i told him i dont have what its worth, but i have a good chunk set aside for a rebuild on the motor, and that i would give him that and half my pay checks for the next year as payments (which would come out to what its worth alone). he would have none of it. instead he gave me a price (basically what i have saved) and i took it.

so.. i now officially own my 912

i know its not a big deal.. its still mine.. but it is a big deal to me. sure i cant rebuild my motor now, but at least its not going anywhere

Damn, you let the cat out of the bag too fast. I was going to tell people that I bought it and insert a few pics of me standing (photoshopped) next to it....

Congrats! It's nice to know that the money pit in the garage is yours and yours alone. Welcome to the club. You only have 8 more steps to go.

Step 5, Sell all rear engined cars and get a 944!

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Congrats on the 912 being all yours. Just make sure you get your dad's name off the title. Don't want anymore ransom threats!

Harry, my Dad used to drive an old 365 that, like yourself, was paid in part by my Grandfather. Grandpa needed some cash to start up his engineering firm, so Dad was forced to part with it. "Never fear," Grandpa told him. "I've already got a replacement car for you, Son."

His new ride; a Morris Minor, a monumental TURD if ever there was one. For the record, the Porsche fetched $6000 (year 1961).

Kudos, dude. You don't need no steenkin' rebuild!!
