Default My rear wiper is called "Twitch"...

because whenever I try to use the wiper, it simply moves an inch and then moves back to where it started, over and over. Turning off the wiper doesn't make it stop. In fact, it won't stop until you manually move the wiper all the way down to where it should go and then back up.

This is on a 1991 944S2 Coupe. Any ideas what might be wrong?

thanks,
Bryan

I think you'll find that a gear has stripped in the motor/assembly. Something similar happend with mine many years ago... evidently the seal where the shaft goes thru the glass was bad and water got into the assembly and ruined the gear over time.

Sounds like when the nut on the top of mine came loose.
Except it would usually twich right off the side of the hatch.

It's either the gear, or the nut =)

How did you fill the hole where the bolt through the glass went?

Someone on the board a while back was selling plugs that were nice aluminum and you could get it powdercoated in black - I don't remember who it was, but I'd like one too since my car doesn't even see rain!

How much does a wiper motor assembly normally go for?
