Default Euro Front Bumper

I can't find the exact info I'm looking for in a search. I"m looking at options for the front end of my car, and a euro-spec is a possibility.

QUESTIONS:

1. How do the driving lights wire in? Wiring them in seperately may be a better option.
2. I've read the euro bumper doesn't use shocks - is it just a bolt-up solution?
3. are all the lights different on it?
Thanks in advance,
Ryan

Mine is an euro version.

Look and I think that you will see the difference yourself. I hope it can "help" you!

Thats gorgeous. My only issue will be finding lights I think. I'll have to figure a way to wire up the driving lights (if I use them at all) and I need to figure out how to mount it before I go buying one.
it's cheaper than the turbo noseconversion I priced out so far

The Euro front bumper does use shocks to mount it. They are shorter than the US NA shocks. The 951 bumper shocks are the right length.

It's amazing how much better the euro front bumper looks compared to the US bumper.
Protti, that is one beautiful car you have. Thanks for those pics.

Thanks

Haha! I don't know much. I just get lucky sometimes.
When I put the euro rear bumper on my car I remembered from looking through PET that the front and rear euro bumper shocks had the same part # as the 951 front shocks.

Plus I got a good look at the euro front bumper that xsboost put on his 89 944.

hopefully xs will chime in here, but if you helped, then maybe you can tell me... I'm assuming that it's just as easy as unbolting the US bumper, then shocks, and bolt up the 951 shocks, then bumper...

Nope, not always. From what I have discovered over the last few months, RoW/Euro bumpers are available in what Porsche called "Buffer" and non buffer versions. A buffer is a bumper shock. The non buffer versions use "bumper reinforcement" or what are often called fixing irons instead of shocks. The part numbers for a 944, early or late are:

left - 477.807.131.A
right - 944.505.039.01

The right side mount is different in that it has provisions to thread in a towing eye. It sort of looks like a shock, but it isn't.

The RoW/Euro bumpers that use buffers are like what 97xray has on his car. They sort of look like a cross between a US and RoW bumper in that they have positions for driving lights, but are not quite as sleek as what most people expect when you talk about "Euro" bumpers.

Manning is correct on this issue; it's more complicated than simply: Euro OR US... there a several iterations of RoW bumpers, the M058, which I have, can also be mounted with solid rods rather than the shorter shocks Pete mentioned.
Know what you have first (fiberglass or aluminum non-US?), then look for the lights... Hella doesn't make the lenses for the M058 any more, or so they claim.
I have some part number information for you if you need it... well, actually, I can tell you what fits the M058 and what doesn't. The M058 is the most rare though from what I gather, if yours looks like the pics above (Protti's), then it's NOT the M058, which I have, and is aluminum.

Here's is a thread with the M058 lighting, RoW.

It's an aluminum euro non-painted bumper - what does that tell you?
I'm hoping thats the one that can use turbo shocks... PLease let me know as I need to give this guy an answer on whether or not I'll buy it tomorrow.

Ryan,

My guess is the bumper your looking at uses bumper shocks.

I don't think boost's car uses bumper shocks, or rather the bumper on his car isn't meant to be mounted with bumper shocks.

Pete,

Nice pic, but I'm almost more interested in BMW R60 in the foreground.

The pic was from the DasVroom car show in Columbus a few months ago. Lots of German cars and bikes.
There was a pic thread that may have some more pics of the bikes in it.

Oh, I think xsboost did use the bumper shocks on his car. I'm sure he'll post when he sees this.
