Euro vs. US lighting on early NAs. Some pictures
Recently I disputed the roundness of the Euro H4 lenses with Luis, and he was right (I was wrong!), so I wanted to pony up the evidence.
I figured I'd take some photos of the driving lights while I was at it; I don't think that they're the same as US; there are two bulbs in the euro, an H3 (that's what it says, 100W), and a small fog / blinker type bulb.
So, getting to it (links to originals are under attached pics):
Here are two pictures of the Low Beam driving light

Here are two of the Driving Light HIGH BEAM, which is surprisingly bright

And...
Here is a US curvature regular headlight lense:

versus the Euro curvature:

OK, that's all I've got for tonight.
And, yes, the cutoffs on the Euro H4 are amazing for a nearly 22 year old lense / bulb set.
Question for IceShark, for good measure, should I replace those bulbs in the regular headlight (Euro), and if so, how much would I need to send you for a good bulb (2)?

100w driving lights are the greatest. I can easily get cars to move out of the left lane in broad daylight with a couple of flashes from my euro driving lights. Flashing the fogs on a sunny day never did a thing.

Lenses are kind of hard to photograph, since they're reflectant, but from the pics I think you can tell how solid they are. They're literally "slabs" of glass. I really like them and would like to keep them if at all possible on my 951 when I eventually upgrade the lighting harness.
Note that they come as an assembly together with the backing plate and adjustment screws. To fit them in a U.S. spec car you'll need to remove the U.S. spec backing plates and use longer mounting screws.

Another benefit to the Euro is the replacable bulb.
In addition to better light and direction from the lense, you don't have to scrap the entire unit if it fails.
Yours are far better pics than mine, Luis! Clearly the same product though (as the lower - albeit fuzzy - picture in my original post).

Luis, those lenses look like they were made by Hella. As I recall another Rennlister was trying to replace his and Hella told him that they were discontinued quite awhile ago. So, finding a replacement if you crack one or road rash it too bad is going to be a long search mission. Hella now makes a retro-conversion assembly that you screw into the headlight bucket that will accept current style 7" round lenses everyone makes.
Jake, those driving lenses you have are not particularly unique. That little bulb in the lens is what the Europeans call a "city light". You turn that bulb on when you are parking on the street. Some countries require a forward white marker light like that though you usually see it in the headlight. But either location will work and save having to install a pair of little white light lens to meet regulations.
