Helluva nice job on the interior Rich. You should be proud. I'm still waiting for winter to do a package tray conversion on mine...you've inspired me!
Oh Yeah...the rest of the car ain't too shabby either.

Big round of applause!!!!!!!!!
Damn that thing looks good! I love the carpet, especially the headliner.
Word of warning: The headlights are a b**ch to align.

Hey Rich, I think the harness bars bolt on in the place of the seatback bolt. You could put one in instead of having the bolt there.
I'm gonna wear out my 'right-click, save as' button on your car pics.

Wow! so many replies in such a short time!!!
Umm well I removed ALL the sound insulation so it's pretty fk'n loud. I can hear every particle of sand touching the rear wheel wells, but it's also noticeably lighter. I don't think there is any sound difference with the roof lining, but it looks good so, I'm happy.
I think the hardest part was tracing the contours of the original roof lining. It's very difficult to work upside down. Making sure I don't get glue or tape residue on the new paint was a b#$tch as well.
The rear seats were easy to do, the trunk liner molded and stretched easily to the shape of the bucket seats... that part I screwed up on was right on the front edge of the bucket seats, where it folds under. I put way way too much glue and it bled through the carpet. doh! That's okay I have enough to redo it if I want.
Otherwise it's pretty straightforward. Kinda easy and relaxing.. although that maybe just from the glue fumes.. phew!

i love that interior!! i'm in the process of stripping my interior, and have considered installing lightweight carpet, but i'm not sure yet. what type of carpet did you use? and how much do you think the weight savings is?
