A stripped out car is good, but a little bit of carpet makes every thing look tidy.

I want this for mine!

Wow. I'm jealous of the rear seat carpeting... damn. That carpeting is EXACTLY what I've been trying to do. Cept everytime I do it I mess up and rip it all back out. I think I'm going with some Alcant. and Carbon fiber for my door panels, and maybe behind the doors too. But that carpeting....wow

Looks nice, enjoy it.

I am surprised all the Porsche pursists are not jumping down your throat for bastardizing your interior with so many non porsche parts.

Did you own a van in an earlier life?

Rich,
I happen to love what you did to your 951. I have considered doing the same to a 951, but alas I really HATE to do that to my 951 S as I really want to keep that stock.

Nice job with great attention to detail.

In my mind if were a non-sunroof car that would be a perfect 951 CS type car. (If it were me I'd ditch the saratoga top for light manual sunroof panel with similar light carpet covering).

Thanks all, but you know I posted this originally like, last August? I've mostly finished it since then, except now she's not running cuz I've got the head off.

I'll post more photos of the interior and another write-up of how it was done.

Thanks Tom. I haven't had anyone say anything negative about any of the mods, but those that would probably held thier tongue knowing I would hand thier *** to them on a platter at the track.

And we DO still own a mini-van.

FYI Joe, the Saratoga glass top is actually quite lighter (at least 2-3lbs lighter) than my stock sunroof.

I've also started fabbing a super-thin, lightweight, fibreglass sunroof that will be used when the car becomes a full on track-only.

The beauty of my carpet mod, is that I can actually put it all back to stock if I wanted to. I still have all the carpet and ceiling liner, and I didn't have to damage or destroy anything. (other than some of the sound deadening material)

Stock 968's from all years (US cars) came with 16" Cup 1's. For 92-93 the optional 17" was a Cup 1. For 94-95 the optional 17" was Cup 2. (Years are approx, it was a rolling change).
