Default early wiper intermittent

My 84 didn't have a relay in the board for the delay wiper relay.....I bought one and put it in and now the wipers just keep running in every setting and won't shut off.....I removed the relay and it went back the way it was....just slow and fast and off.....I am thinking that the relay might be for a late model 944.....only cost me $10 so no worries......I'll just contnue to bump the switch lever when I need a wipe....

Have had the same problem since after replacing the switch on my 83. Thought it was a defective switch, but now I'm curious. Let us know what you find!

LOL!! I had that problem and also pulled the relay. Replace the wiper switch in the steering column, then put the relay back in.

Hey, my wipers just randomly come one when ever they feel like it. Do one sweep and then shut off.
Whats the big deal?

My 79 924 did that, too.....freaky.....I would assume there is a slight short in the switch....I could hear a little electrical giggle in there sometimes....never really surfaced into a problem though....

HHmmmm,
Makes me think......My relay is gone too and I assumed that the PO did not replace because of the expense.

Isn't the inter. relay like $60 or something crazy like that? Did you check the pn on the $10 unit?
