Default are S2's easy to flood?

We went to go buy a 1990 S2 today but when we got there they were hauling it away. The guy said it was flooded and they were going to change the plugs. He said it is common with these cars, yet I never remember my 924S flooding. So is this normal or is it something that's gonna need fixed? Thanks!

Why would it flood if the injectors are good? Must of had a leaky injector. It's not common.

I'm going to ask them about it tomorrow. I wasn't able to look at it because the truck was pulling out w/ it right when we were pulling in. He said something about it having a low battery and flooding. I'll find more out tomorrow. Hopefully all is well.

i know that they do this when they arent driven much. Petes car did this numerous times when i had it for paint, main reason being, if you start it to move it and dont let it warm up all the way, it doesnt get hot enough to burn gas off the plugs.....ask anyone w/ an rx7!

Ok...Thanks! So it should be good? I'll double check tomorrow when it gets back to make sure it runs right. I know it has been moved many times so they can drive other cars, so thats prob the problem....atlest I hope it is. Thanks again!

I had similar problems of the car having problems after sitting it would misfire/ and stutter and sometimes even stall out right after startup but this was only after a long time of sitting.

I installed my MSD blaster 2 coil and BAM the engine just BURST into life everytime no matter how long it sits.

have been told that S2's do not flood.

When you start the engine, you crank it, till it turns and fires and keep the key locked for about half a second more.

you also DO NOT use the gas pedal at all.

if it stall like mine sometimes does when warm starting, could be the ICV

never flooded mine.....
Also..... rule 1 in the manual.... leave the go pedal alone when starting. It might be a teenager, but it was advanced for it time.....

also... ditto on adrian
