Hello to the list!

New to the board, new to the brand.

Just signed on after a few minutes of browsing. Seems like a good group!

A little background on me and the machine seems in order.

1983 944 N/A "Champagne"
153k miles +/-
1 year old paint, supposedly new clutch (it was a DIY, so no shop receipt). New water pump (the ole broke belt trick) before I got it, and all the additional work that entails. I paid 3700 for it in Cocoa Fl., drove it back to Va. at 80 plus the whole way. ;-) Made it fine, then over the course of 2 months added motor mounts (made a whole lot of difference!), oil cooler seal, clutch master and slave, both tie rods, and that's it so far. I do need a fuel rail if anyone has one. Seems to be leaking at the weld for the dampener mount?

Located in Giles county Virginia. Having fun so far!

Have to run, so thats it for now.

Names Ray by the way. Thanks for listening.

Well, thanks gentlemen (?), that was a warm welcome! Didn't get a chance to get back here on the weekend. We were at the local short track as our daughter was invited to sing the national anthem. She did great! They already signed her up for another 'gig'. I think the attendance was probably about 5K or so.

Anywho. To answer strekfu's question, Giles county is in the western part of Va. over here close to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg (that's where I work). And by the way streck, love your signature at the bottom. You must be into history?

Red1, no, haven't replaced the rail yet, haven't even check on a price yet. It must be a microscopic leak since it is barely dripping, but it is a priority to get fixed. What company/individual do most of you guys get your parts from? Our local people seem a little high, as does Pelican parts. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Think I'll go cruising the other threads now. Again, thanks for the warm welcome.

Oh, by the way, what is the procedure on getting an avatar? Is it 'earned' after a certain amount of posts, or do we just submit something, make a request from the moderator, or what. Later.

Welcome to Rennlist Ray,and now to answer your question about the avatar. You can pick an avatar from a list for now, then after 25 post IIRC you can have your own by uploading a picture from your computer.

BTW good luck with the fuelrail

Get in touch with somebody like 944ecology (rennlister) or Oklahoma Foreign for a good used fuel rail.

All newbies are subject to information overload....is that ok? I think being armed with knowledge is the key to smart purchases, and a rewarding ownership experience. And thats only the beginning!

Wilkommen!
