Default Fuel hose recall and update - the last word please.

OK, I've gone through dozens of old posts and I can't seem to find the definative answer. What exactly makes up the fuel pressure hose update or recall? I have an '86 with the original pressure fuel line running from tank to rail. What is changed with the update? Do they cut and clamp? or remove and replace with a multi piece line? So basically the question is what if anything is left of the orignal line? Thanks to anyone with relevant info.

I believe this was the line they replaced. It was cracking open and spilling fuel all over the block.

Mine is an 86 too and my original line cracked open everywhere, i just went to autozone and bought some clamps and 1 and a half feet of 50psi goodyear fuel line and clamped it over the little nipples from the old line. It has worked fine ever since. This was 5 months ago.

they had a recall on the little jumper lines from the dampner to the fuel rail. You still have to pay for it but it was a recall. The hose rock is referring to is the one he has in his hand in that picture. It can be fixed w/ some fuel pressure line and some good clamps like he said. The crimped part can be removed and there is a ferrel* underneath that can be clamped onto, one on the fuel rail, and one below the brake booster.

The line he has circled in green is the line they recalled.

But, after trying for weeks and weeks with local Porsche dealerships, none of them will service it!
They say Porsche ONLY issued a recall WK07, which is some sort of oil cooler hose rerouting..
Even though that's total BS, there are at least 5 recalls for these cars, and it's not like they stop servicing it as time goes by, a RECALL is a RECALL.

Maybe you'll be lucky enough to have at least a halfass dealership around you (I'm not )

Matt,

For some reason, PCNA (800PORSCHE) says the same thing about the recalls. I checked what were available for my turbo, and they said only the Oil cooler hose re-routing and replacement (WK07).

A dealer should be able to do a VIN# search and see if the campaign is still open for your particular car. One of the cars I had(88 944 NA)still had an open campaign. Porsche prefers to call recalls, campaigns.
