Bilstein Escort Cup streetable?

To add to the mix here, the following is some information Kevin Gross posted a long time ago for matching springs with torsion bar sizing that you might find useful.
Bar size Spring
"23.5 180
24.5 213
25.5 250
26 270
27 314
28 363
29 418
30 479
The spreadsheet was based on a few data points and interpolation by using Puhn's formulas for computing spring rates. "

Scott, do you have those values for smaller sway bars? Or do you know where I could find the spreadsheet?
Am I correct in assuming from the data that for example a 26mm sway bar is equal to having 270 pound springs?

sorry I havent responded earlier. the car is my daily driver for now (that doesnt mean much, as its been down longer then its worked, then again, i decided to pull the head) but shortly (by early winter I suppose, I will have a car to serve as my daily driver. So the 944 turbo will be a street car that will see the track often... say +/- 5 times a year. I can handle stiff, I won't complian as long as it wont get exceedingly uncomfortable, and it wont HURT performance on the twisties (not overly bumpy)
I am a big fan of bilstein. My brother and I just installed a Bilstein shock /eibach spring tuned by prodrive (Prodrive WR sport setup) on his 2000 impreza coupe, and the car is incredible, and the feel is quality, not bouncy or anything of that cheap suspension feel.
keep convinving me on the escorts, I'd much rather do that then Leda. As for revalving, i know what it is, but this is a fairly new concept to me. Torsion bars, since I'm going in anyways, I don't mind buying better ones, or deleting them... whichever would yeild more performance.
does this help? and thanks! Will I clear driveways and speed bumps? will it lift wheels? (splitter planned as well)

Can't contribute too much, but I can answer this:
If you're running coil-overs, the ride height should be adjustable. Just don't set it too low and you'll be fine. Or you can get som pimpin' hydralics and give your car a nice drop all the way to the groud!
Will I clear driveways and speed bumps?

Bruce,
Those were rear torsion bar sizes that tell you what the proper front spring value should be. I don't have any data for how sway bar sizing would correlate, nor have I done the math on this myself, but it was done by Kevin Gross, who is VERY well respected in certain Porsche related circles and whose knowledge I trust.

I guess you can look at my avatar and see the preparations I had to do to just get it up on the flatbed this past weekend.

I have the firehawk suspension, although I am in the middle of upgrading my rear torsions to 31mm hollow (30mm effective). If I hadn't driven the car hard before upgrading the suspension, I wouldn't have known it wasn't the stock suspension.
Based on whay you are saying about liking stiff, sounds like you might be happy with the Escort.

What about the tried and true Koni setup? A set of Koni Yellows all around would be an improvement.
Does anyone have any opinions on the difference in performance and ride quality in these setups:
1. Koni Yellows w/ stock springs
2. Koni Yellows w/ ~400lbs/30mm F/R
3. Bilstein Firehawk w/ appropriate springs
4. Bilstein Escort cup w/ appropriate springs
5. Ledas 24way adjustable (internal shocks)
These are the main contenders that I can see in the under $2500 range for shocks/struts/springs. Basically, is the Bilstein Firehawk setup really that much better (insert price difference) than the Konis with stiffer springs setup?

Besides the usual suspects of Bilstein, Koni and Leda, there are others such as KW, Jic-Magic, Ground Control, etc...
Here's a link with their websites: http://www.weissach.net/Suppliers_92...l#ShocksStruts
Karl.

thanks everyone... looks like the escort cup is possibly the setup I will go with. I want to track my car with stock suspention and m030 bars before i go all out, i still feel i have some learning to do on this car. besides i need to save that 2500 for the setup, which takes about 2 months anyway. keep suggesting and such, i still have plenty to learn.
