Reverse Lights
My reverse Lights don't work on the 924S. I was looking for the switch and found it on the tranny. I unplugged the wires and hooked them up to my voltmeter and no voltage was shown. then I jumped the wires with a piece of wire and the lights still didn't come on. What could be wrong?

I know it sounds dumb.. but did you check the bulbs?
I had both go out simultaneously- seems the then bad ground had been intermittent and blew both lamps at the same time.
Check the fuses and grounds as well. It cant hurt.

check for continunity between lamp and wire, theres a plug comming from the rear lights, check those aswell, make sure the ignition was on when you tried to short out the switch. Another cause could be the connection between the loom and the backing plate of the light, pop the rear bulb holder off and there's a few clips holding the metal plate in, pop it out and chack the ground connection.

Was the car turned to the start position or running during this test? I would also recommend you check the bulbs and fuses...Good Luck!

I just checked with my ohmmeter for power. Power is getting to the bulbs. I also swapped in for sure good bulbs and they still didn't work. What could the problem be? I tested the bulbs at the socket.

If power is getting to the bulbs and the bulbs are known to be good, then the only other option is that you don't have a good ground to the bulbs.
It's not that difficult a circuit...

If you have positive power to the bulbs it has to be something in the ground. If you look at the bulbs the two bayonets, or tiny posts, make contact with the metal plate they plug into. That is the ground. If the rest of the stop, turnsignal and running light bulbs are working you are getting ground to the plate. Just take some sandpaper and clean up the notches in the plate the reverse bulb bayonets slip into.
You may also have screwed up the positive copper strip in the white plastic bulb socket. Bend it back into correct shape so it pushes the bulb bayonet nibs securely into the backing plate notches.
