Talking Just some quick pics

Well, since the 944 is clean , here's some interior pics

That Mothers Back to black works wonders. It takes a couple days to soak in and loose the glossy look.

Hey, it kind of matches the gold color.. it grips like no tomorrow, and getting the leather kit is far down on the list.

It's also sewn on..
got anything against hawaiian prints ????

What all did you use the Mother's back to black on? Just the dash/console, or the other pieces like guages, *****, etc as well?

Great !!
I used to have it in my offroad truck and that was the only way to tell my true speed.
So, since the speedo was broke in the 944 when I bought it, I mounted it there. The maps come in real handy and there are many different customizable screens.

It is so accurate also..
oh, it's the Magellan 410. I don't know if they still make them or not.

How hard was it to paint the Porsche lettering in the spoiler?
What kind of paint did you use?

Oh, your gonna laugh at this...
I was at a friends house, when I thought of it. The only thing I could find was white paint in a rattle can. So I sprayed the paint on a paper plate and let it dry a little. Then taking a q-tip as a brush, filled in the lettering....

Looks ok from far away, but up close, looks like crap now.
I'll eventually remove that paint and do it with that whitewall paint.

I think I paid $450 for it.
I paid an extra $40 for the mounting bracket
an extra $30 for the cable to connect to a PC and Cig Lighter connect.
Another $40 or so for the CD with additional maps. ( comes with west coast in CA ).. It also has a ton of marine maps and fishing spots etc...

This was years ago, now the stuff for Pocket PC's or laptops is WAY better.

I have full Country GPS for my laptop for $120 by DeLorme http://www.delorme.com/
It works amazing.... i use a power inverter to run the laptop in the car....
This program has resturants, hotels, reststops.... and every business from here to cali.... all in one cd... its amazing...
I was in Seven Springs PA coming home from a ski trip.... clicked 20 miles ahead at the next exit did a search for fast food... found the local pizza hut, with phone number, called them and told them i would be there in 15 min.
Had a hot fresh Pepperoni wating for me.... oh i even added the stop into my route and it told me exactly where to get off the highway.
GOOD SIDE: laptop- large color screen, voice commands, amazing software, GPS is FREE coast to coast.
BAD SIDE: not nearly as portable as the handhelds.... thats all i can think of.
