While reworking my stereo over the weekend I Kept looking at my dash thinking what a waste of space the empty center speaker hole/grill is. After adding a better set of front speakers, I had the old ones left over. I pulled off the grill and saw that it was an easy fit for the old front speaker to be put in the dash. Using an extra channel I had left I hooked up the speaker and found that it along with my subs, it really improved the sound of the audio system. It gets sound higher up so you can hear vocals better and its not really A hard job since that area was meant to be used for a speaker.

No, really officer- it's NOT MINE! I'm sure no cop has ever heard THAT before!
Too bad it wasnt something I could have used, like leftover drug MONEY!
If I could find a 5.1 Stereo that was reasonable, it would be a great place for a center channel speaker.

Reminds me of a Saturday Night Live skit with Rob Schneider, where the response to the question "What is this for?" is "It's a <blah blah blah>. You put your WEED in there!"
Anyway, someone should really make some cool aftermarket part to put in there so us early 944/924 guys feel special. Or even just a solid plastic box that fits in there so I can hide tiny things in there behind the grill without worrying about them falling into the insides of the dash.

I'm wrapping up the plug for a mold right now. I'm trying to find a local composites shop to make parts from my molds.
