Skip, did you mean the 28th for the DE day, or is the DE day actually a Friday, as you posted, the 27th? It looks like folks are going on the 28th, which is the Sat., but I'm supposed to be in Brush Prairie, WA at 11am that day. So put me down as tentative at best.
And another question - when we (still being optimistic ) do the Duffy Lake Rd, and are having fun in the twisties, how much do ya'll go for driving excitement? The reason I ask is I would likely have the wife and family with me, and she doesn't like to be nervous in the passenger seat, so I have to be conservative and behave...

Nordschleife Master
We drive at the pace we feel comfortable and safe driving at. There will be a few "adventurous" people in front, who may bolt ahead, but will happily wait later for the more relaxed drivers in the group. The pecking order usually sorts itself out within the first bit of the drive.. and then alternates as we wave and take photos of each other!!! :P
No stupid stunts, no stupid speeds. Just fun.
Of course I will have a cell with me as will most, so we can keep in touch in case one gets lost or fails a DME.

(though it would be a lot of fun to see how well a 968 can keep up with a 951 - having had both, I'm curious to see how they would compare in actually getting around... turbo lag vs. turbo boost compared to the lack of either in the 968)

Rich / Travis / Ian - me thinks we better tell people how long a trip this is going to take for the DUFFY LAKE option .... it's not just a 2 hour stint around a few freeway ramps. Over 50% of the drive is basically 2 lane paved secondary highway, but busy at that time of year.
The Vancouver - Hell's Gate - Lillooet - Duffy Lake - Whistler - Vancouver loop is going to take 7-8 hours at that time of year. It's also around a 350 mile total trip distance, so for those who are coming up from the USA, it's gonna be a long day unless plans are afoot for overnighting somewhere.
The Aug 28th weekend is also LABOUR DAY weekend which means pretty busy hotels - Whistler will be sold out for example as it does every year.
Here's the trip outline at: http://www.hellsgateairtram.com/hga.trip.coastmtn.html
The alternative “short” trip is from meeting place to Hells’ Gate and back – a 3 hour 180 mile round trip – http://www.hellsgateairtram.com

Sorry, yes, the DE at PR is Friday, Aug 27th. I meant to say that I could not make the Saturday, Aug 28th drive since I will be going to the DE. I thought my Canadian freinds might be joining me again this year but it appears they are all GIRLIE MEN!!!

Cool welcome Redlyne! I also had an 86 corolla Gt-s MINT! 2 tone blue. I have the front fenders still if you are interested. I could bring them to the get together. Let me know.

FYI: I have been using www.priceline.com and staying at the Hyatt or Marriot Pinnacle downtown for $40-$50 U.S a night. For guys coming up from the States it is a good option.
It is a 50/50 chance I will be buying a 87 951 this week.
