May I suggest the trip to Boston bar via hwy7 to Hope then up the fraser canyon. this is a much quieter, scenic and twisty route, the #1 is boring, busy as hell and littered with police.
we could stop in Hope on the return for lunch and I know a good place to eat or we could go to one of the pubs.
this is around 7 hours round trip as I have done it before.
The Duffy lk road as good as it is and one of my favorites is always busy this time of year and the group will get well broken up, not to mention tired for our OOT friends.

Sounds good Lance - I prefer this route too - otherwise we are fighting motor homes, trailers, etc. Not to mention the time pressure to get somewhere.

From Cloverdale we could sprint up to Ft langley take the albion ferry accross and pick up hwy 7 on the Maple Ridge side.
First ferry on Saturday is 5:30 then every 1/2 hr and it's free!

Lance you were suggesting lunch near hope... I hope you were thinking of the Wildcat Grill. If not, that place is my suggestion. The burgers there are monster

ooohhh - Albion ferry full of Porsches! That would be a sight to behold. Sounds like the right plan alright. Hwy 7 would be a good bet.

If we could arrange it so that we only have Porsches on the ferry, that would be SUPER COOL. That would be a golden photo op.

I think that could be done, if everyone shows up at the same time so we all get in line at the same time, end to end...

Then slip the crew a $20. Dunno if theyd take that, everytime ive been on there most of them seem like grouchy old *****...

One question I have is, how's the weather this year so far out in Vancouver? The last few trips I took have been plagued by rain. We're doing this rain or shine right?

We've had something like 1 day of rain for every 80 days of scorching summer this year.

The forecast for the next two weeks is sunshine, but I don't know about late august. I'm predicting 85% chance of sunshine. Them's good odds.
