Default Quart of synthetic $2.34? Jelly in coolant resivoir

Went to walmart today to purchase some oil for my mothers 99' grand cherokee and i seen cheap syntheitic oil is it as good as mobil or castrol? its Super Tech Full Synthetic sae 10w-30 motor oil "higher mileage vehicle formula" ?? alot cheaper but as good?? lol and there is a green jelly like liner in my coolant resivoir heat exhanger seals bad? or head gasket

Oil cooler seal leak is most likely. What is your location?

Richands VA , forget the super tech brand lol i heard a good quote "whats the cheapest cord you would use for bungy jumping" i'm sticking with mobil 1 synthetic lol

That's a great quote! The oil cooler seals are kinda a PITA, but it's really a cheap fix. Just make sure you borrow the tool to properly align the housing, or you will have oil pressure problems.

The reason I asked your location, is that we have a pretty active group here in Houston, if you were close, we'd be happy to help change it.

i rebuilt my n/a w/ the engine out , i had no troubel gettin it back togeter w/o the tool , ... different story in the car??

hey kevin...im rebuilding my engine now...what kind of tool do i need for the oil cooler housing? new seals are coming with the crankcase gasket set im ordering...thanks

well all oil cooler seals *were replaced upon rebuild, and i did not* have any trouble with out the tool. I meant to say is it harder to align when the engine isnt on a engine stand . lol

Shouldn't be too much harder while it's in the car. I mean you are a 3'9" midget contortionist with 36" bicepts. Aren't you?
