Id like to be in charge of directions on the next SW Ohio GTG and make an honest attempt at plotting a course.

Just on our944Fest tour alone I:

1. Got HorsePowerFarm lost at least twice.

Prevalent conversation inside the HorsePowerFarm vehicle:
"I think he's making up his own course as we go and he even has the map. This guys an *******."

2. Got on the wrong ramp on I-71 thinking I was going the same direction as John D. Hey, at least I was the last one to say goodbye.

Prevalent conversation from inside The Maitre D's 993:
"Where is this guy going. Too bad his parents weren't sterile. What an *******."

I think I could do a good job though if you guys empowered me. Thats my problem. I blame you. I have failed because you have failed me. I need something to feel like Im in the cool people crowd. To know I belong. To know Im making a difference.

By the way, completely off topic, but did any of you pump gas at that BP station just outside Fisheys development. The black dude inside was the fruitiest tender vittle Ive ever seen. This bloke would have made Richard Simmons look like Wilt Chamberlain.

Hummmph. The fact that you know the guy inside is a fruit means that you still haven't mastered the art of paying at the pump... You need to print that thread out, and paste it to your dashboard.
tee hee..

I went in to buy a Coke. I almost bought some Cotex at the counter just so I could say "yeah its for my wife. what can you do" just to be safe.

I get flustered though so thats what I would have been saying on the inside. On the outside it would have come out like this:

"Do you sell those big plump juicy hot dogs here? The ones with the cheese in the middle?"

I will PM or call you guys to find out what you want to do. I think the Machinaw Island deal would be sweet, we would be able to get some beautiful pictures up there, its a drive but would be worth it.
My partner's family has a cottage an hour south of the Mackinaw Bridge (Vanderbilt - near *******). If you're serious we might be able to work something out.

Man, I'm sorry. I spent 10 hours there Saturday, yet it seems I missed everything!!! I'd really like to see your ride in person, too (and meet you, of course). Will you be at D&B tonight?

Dale.

There were quite a few stories from non-944Fest participants that made the weekend so enjoyable besides the previously mentioned Rake Lady:

The family cheering us on as...OH MAYBE 40 944s came BLASTING by their friendly and peaceful family enclave at the beginning of the cruise. Happy 4th indeed! Winslow tossed a casual flame or two at 'em as a celebratory gesture.

The two police cruisers we passed on the cruise (there were probably more). Our little squadron of about 5 cars came upon the first one while we were pushing 80 mph on those back road straights. Cue rapid braking, cop slows down a bit, then drives past us as another pack of 944s caught up - further outnumbering him. Cue rapid downshifting followed by acceleration.

The family in the neon green...Neon, with an engine that sounded like it was about to explode, passing us at the stopping point/rest area? halfway through the cruise. Derwood sure had one confused look on his face after observing a parking lot full of Porsches.

DANG that cruise was fun - it almost deserves a thread of its own...

On our way from Illinois, this little girl in a minivan just stared, eyes wide mouth open while we passed.

Hahaha, didn't hear about the Prelude.
That gold 924 was quite an interesting sight. Pete and I were moving at quite a clip at that point - I heard a ton of people starting beeping at him?
