Yeah, took that photo without realizing what car was front-and-center. In one of the other cruise shots you can see how I always forget to dry my mirrors when I wash my car, as they're covered in water spots.

Where to start?

1) A HUGE thanks to Brandon (ILP) for allowing me to ride with him (jump ship) and ride again! Would not have made it without you, thanks. Whenever you need help just let me know.

2) Thanks to Michelle for allowing me to jump ship and remember WHY I like AC. I thought it was because I am fat, I was WRONG. It was because I HATE being hot :>)

3) Cory and the rest of the group for making the drive down not so dull.

It was great to meet everyone, tried to talk to all of you but I am sure I missed a few. It was a great time. HUGE thanks for Fishey's parents for hosting it there. Fishey - talked to your dad for a while seems like a real cool guy.

Some comments on the folks I met and talked to (try to remember everyone):

John and Jen, just great people. Think everyone else has summed it up.
SidV - you are right, they key IS getting drunk early and sobering up, glad to see you were testing your theory. Great to finally meet you.
HPFarm - great guy all around. I dont think anyone feels differently. Was a blast to get to talk to you.
Judd - great to talk with you about the new parts you got, thanks for the time.
Pete - excellent to meet you, seemed like talking to old friends
John S - Congrats, know you will enjoy your purchase, will give you a buzz when I am in Nashville next
Dan - well deserved, great looking car.
Alpeinweis - you do look like a super trooper (sorry had no choice :>))

Everyone was just fantastic, met just about everyone. Somehow missed UDP and a few others (Campeck, Rock, Bob W and Darth Coupe) but it was excellent. I will be there again next year with some of the Texas boys in tow. I will have the 951 ready and I WILL be giving rides :>)

I was resisting the urge to yell "hey farva!" all weekend. Not a good thing, being that we live in the same city, he can always track me down and kick my ****!

it was an AWESOME weekend. reading the posts now that i know all of you in person, is so much more fun. I too am very shy so i didnt talk to has many as i wanted to. it was fun helping with rock's transmission change (never thought i would say that). thanks for the ride Cory (love your car!!). also cory if you watch the dvd you got, you may notice a very familiar pic in the 944 menu i miss my car so much, but at the same time i hated that car. next time i buy a 944, i will be financially secure, not live with the parents, oh and most important it will be SOHC, let me reiterate SOHC turbo.

thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL, all in good fun of course...but those air-cooled jokes did stretch their limits. All in all, I thought the original picture was kind of neat:
original, sans witty text

I remember a remark while shooting it about "standing too close to the car" or something to that effect

Again? LOL, I remember turning around and seeing all these people pointing cameras at me. Couldn't get out of the way fast enough!

EDIT:

anyone want a wallpaper?

You're welcome for the ride Tim. Fun as alway with you around! Yeah, Dan P. asked me a while back if he could use my picture for a secret project of his. Said it would be cool so I gave him the go ahead. It's definately a glamour shot or ME, you & Dan87951's car isn't it!!!

OK, I'm finally awake. The drive home and having to then go to a picnic at my mom's (or I was getting linched by my family) killed me last night. Didn't get home until after midnight and then worked all day (OK I did close my office door and take a 1.5 hour nap... my co-workers just laughed at me), I then proceeded to come home and slept until 10:00.

Dan just called me and asked me when I was going to post the pics I took, so here goes!!!

I need to find a program that does a mass conversion from larger pictures to postable pictures...

Cory, later versions of Adobe Photoshop have an automated Web Gallery function under File > Automate. I used it to make my gallery, posted on page 1 I think.

I had a great time at the fest this year, it was over way too fast. It was awesome meeting up with old friends and seeing some new faces. Thanks to Fishey and the family, Dan P, and Cuz for organizing this and making it happen. Congrats to Dan87951 for winning best of show. See you all again...

OK, here we go....after 2 hrs. of picking and re-sizing (I took almost 80 pics, I must not have been having as much fun as the others...NOT!) here they are.....

Gotta' thank the ones who made this all possible first......
One of the greatest guys I know.....

Pete, this was ALMOST the shot we wanted......

And the newest addition to the list of the greatest guys I know.......

It was a pleasure meeting and chatting with you, John. Your great demeanor is second only to your humility about your great invention here. Da Vinci, Bell, Edison, Wright, Pasteur, Ford, Dunkle.........
