Load index
Hi everyone,
My first post! I just got some 15” Fuchs wheels, 7” and 8”. I want to put on 205/55r15 on the front and 225/50r15 on the rear. Only problem is I can’t find anything with the recommended 93 load index. Does anyone have experience, or opinions on going down slightly? I can find 92V for the front and 91H for the rear.
thanks for the help!

The difference between those load index ratings isn’t enough to make me concerned given how light the car is
but why such tiny tires?
a 225/50 looks like a donut spare tire inside a 944’s big arches, btdt

Thanks V2!
it’s a long story. The tire shop put on 215/60r15 on 7j15 all around. (I bought 4 X 7j15 and 2 X 7j15 Fuchs) They’re rubbing slightly over speed bumps and hard acceleration. I should refresh the suspension, but there are other things I’d like to address first, and I’d like to save up and do a good suspension, just not right away. The 215/60’s look kind of beefy on the car in its current state though, so I thought I could go a little smaller, and I read somewhere else here of people doing the setup I mentioned… I’ll post a photo.
but if you think the rears will look ridiculous would you have any suggestions?
thanks!

If thats not an option for you or you are dead set on running stock alignment settings then yes, youll need to switch to late offset wheels. I agree with V2 that going to a 50 series tire on a 15" wheel will look rather strange (but looks are also subjective).

I had 225/50r15 on the front a long time ago and they looked silly even with 1.25” lowering springs. You need to be really slammed to make it look ok.
215/60r15 is the factory size but it does look meaty compared to 16-17s you see on newer cars

Phone dials
So I ordered some phone dials in the correct offset. Maybe I’ll keep the Fuchs for later as they’re in really nice shape. But for now I’ll just swap over the 215/60r15’s and try to return the smaller tires. Problem solved hopefully. I’ll post a pic when all’s said and done.
