Question F1 2002

Has anyone really played this game? I bought it a few months ago while on sale. It kicked my *** badly so I shelved it until I could spend some time trying to learn how to drive this simulator.

I can't believe how indepth this game is. It records full telemetry, you can save data files for all settings for each track, etc.

Not to mention how difficult it is to drive. I have a hard time even using a steering wheel with all help options on.

Damn is it sweet though.

YES, myself and FLA951 (my roommate jason) have the game, with the GTR (GT Racing) 'skin' for it, sooo cool to play the game with GT cars. if you want to find out where to get it, email him strike4330@yahoo.com. i can't remember off the top of my head where to get it, but he knows for sure.

if i ever get my room set up i'll reconnect my steering wheel, and i'd like to whoop y'all

GTRacing 2002 is an awesome mod for F12002....I think it also won a bunch of awards too. Nothing quite like trying to tame a 993GT2...incredibly difficult but sooo much fun once you learn it! Definately look up that mod and download it..it's free.

it's even better sitting in a 944 office chair, or on dave's floor in a seat made so you feel like you're sitting in a car.

but i guess you can't download those things, especially not free!

seriously - download the mod - it's a blast!

Oh yeah Mike we had shelved that seat for a few months but we busted it back out for my brother's graudation party. I's getting kinda beat up tho we need to build the real version..the prototype is wearing out. So much fun...

5?! dang...maybe I should use one for our next racing seat. Altho they weigh a little too much to be easily moved around...but that's definately something tot hink about..thanks Mike.

I need to take a trip south and see your Miata...now if only somebody would buy my Mustang I could get a better daily...

Yep, I've played it. Awesome game. I've never had the patience to play through an entire season though. I liked the GTR mod, but haven't messed around with it too much. There's also a "Turbo monsters" mod or something where you can drive F1 cars from the 80's I think.

I have F1 Challenge 1999-2002 and it is insanely realistic. I love how you can tweak the settings of the car slightly and actually notice the difference. Where can I find this GTR mod?

I am still partial to Grand Prix Legends as being the best racing sumulator ever!

there are actually TONS of mods for F12002.
check www.bhmotorsports.com for more info about mods for it including GTR 2002.
there was one more F1 game made by EA after F12002- it's called F1 Challenge '99-'02 that simulates the 1999-2002 seasons (duh). You can also get a 2003 season addon for that one, too.
EA decided not to renew their license to produce F1 games after that last one, so it might be a while before we get another officially licensed game.

For all you guys having trouble with the difficulty- what difficulty are you using? I run the AI cars at 90-93% and I can keep up if i'm in a decent car with traction control and abs. I also have a wheel, though . . . .
and a wife who understands that video games can be a legitimate hobby! i spend waaaaaaaaaay too much time on those F1 games . . . . . .
