F1 2002

Played it last night.
It's an awesome game, but is very difficult. Frankly, I've spent all of my time in the Ferrari driving Monza as it seems the easiest track. To me it's hard to get the feel of any simulator because all of the feedback is visual. I need to feel the G's to get the hang of it.
It's my favorite sim, though!

It's next to IMPOSSIBLE to play F12002/GTR2002 without a force feedback wheel...I tried for a while with little success. Once you get one it's a lot easier and you can get the feel of it.

I disagree. You don't need Force Feedback at all. I've got a plain jane Logitech FormulaGP (non-FF) and it can keep up with the AI on FULL REALISM, NO AIDS, 100% AI. (88% agression)
IMHO if you play with aids on you are a *****!
But you might have to turn down the graphics details a bit in order to get smooth framerates which is a MUST imho.

streckfu, what are you trying to download? GTR2002?? There are a couple of other download sites for it besides bhmotorsports. I think m4driving has it too. do a google: "GTR2002 download" (use the quotes too!)
I find that the aids ruin the experience. (expect for clutch, which is required if you don't actually have a clutch pedal..) Like ABS - What fun is it if you can't lock up your wheels??? And I don't like the computer taking over and trying to tell me where to go, either. Traction control is kinda usefull though, I admit - but if you can learn to launch the car without it - you're that much better off!!!!
My best advice, is to turn the AI down to as low as possible, and then try to FOLLOW them around the track. Not pass them - just follow them. Learn the racing line. Keep turning up the AI until you can just barely keep up.
This is the best way to learn a track, imho, besides doing thousands of laps.
